Joe Ames specializes in collaborative strategies. He conducts meeting facilitations that bring contrary opinions to a consensus, laying the foundation for change management actions or strategic plans. His work in change management has involved such diverse clients as the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation, international consulting companies, small businesses and a technical project funded by the National Institutes of Health.

 

Joe also provides executive coaching and conducts media training. He has experience with a wide variety of organizations in the private sector, philanthropy and government.

 

Prior to founding Ames & Associates in 2005, Joe worked nearly 30 years as a news reporter and editor at radio and television stations and newspapers. He was part of a team at The Miami Herald that was awarded a Pulitzer Prize.

 

Community involvement is important to Ames & Associates, and we embrace the Benjamin Franklin concept of, “Doing well by doing good.”

 

As a community volunteer, Joe founded the Latino Educational Attainment (LEA) initiative housed at the Orange County Business Council. Joe received the Quiet Achiever Award from The Waltos Group of Northwestern Mutual for his work with LEA and was named one of the Most Influential in the Hispanic Community in 2008. Joe serves on an Orange County United Way board, as well as the board of directors for the Oak View Renewal Partnership.

Linda Ames has extensive experience in strategic communications: change management and culture-change communications; internal communications; media relations, and marketing communications.

 

For more than 25 years, Linda has developed strategic communications and tactics to help companies and organizations translate complex issues into clear, easily understood messages. She was a director for internal communications for Fluor Corp. and managed corporate communications for Samsung’s U.S. construction entity, among other leadership roles.

 

Linda is passionate about culture-change communications and has led global communications for a multi-year SAP implementation, as well as numerous merger and acquisition programs. For example, she led communications during several successful bank takeovers – involving customers, community, employees and regulators.

 

Linda is also a skilled media relations professional who, as a former television news reporter, producer and anchor, brings insight to reporters’ needs and perspectives. She conducts executive media coaching and works closely with executive teams to develop and implement corporate communications strategies to support the company’s strategic objectives. As a former stock broker, she brings a strong business sensibility to a public company’s communications.

 

Linda earned an Accredited Public Relations (APR) designation from the Public Relations Society of America and is a former board member of Team Kids.
